Hasbro has announced it's getting rid of plastic packaging

The plastic ban only covers packaging, not plastic figurines, dolls or trucks inside the packaging. But Hasbro says it is targeting the most wasteful part of the toy-buying experience -- the part most likely to end up in the trash immediately.

The move helped Hasbro score points on multiple fronts. Hasbro brands include Monopoly, Nerf, My Little Pony and Magic: The Gathering. Today's young parents care about sustainability. They are shocked by the amount of garbage that surrounds a typical action figure, doll or toy truck.
